We had seven stay for Bingo. Two-dollar winners were Pat Faust, Berneil McCord, Winnie Allen, Madaline Forbes and Merle Starr. Madaline Forbes and Winnie Allen shared a $2 round, while Grace Johnston won the $3 blackout round.
There were two tables for Duplicate Bridge. There was a tie for high winners between Bob Johnson and Vivien Campbell, and Marilyn Verplancke and Kay Fleming. Second high winners were Sheila Johnson and Mary Alice Sjoden.
We are always happy to deliver a meal if you are under the weather or have been in the hospital. Please give us a call at 326-5564 and we will do our best to help you out. If you are 60 or older, or the spouse of someone 60 or older, you are eligible to join us for lunch for the low donation of just $3 a meal. We feel that is a great price for a meal this size. Give us a call and come join us. Tickets make a great gift for that hard-to-buy-for person.
We do have the property tax refund papers, so if you did not get them in the mail you can come in and pick them up. They need to be in by June 3, 2013.
We want to send our sincere sympathy to the family of Steve Doelhing (Nubbins) who passed away this last week. He will be missed by everyone in the Valley who knew him. He always had a kind word for everyone he came in contact with.
I did get a call from Ruth Brock last week. She said she was doing fine and to tell everyone “hi” for her and Nancy. She sounded real good and misses everyone.
It has been so uplifting having some of our snowbirds come back. Jim and Mary Lynn Hammer are back as well as Herm and Sherry Weinert. We only have a few more that are still gone but I am sure they will be venturing back real soon.
We did get our stove fixed finally after several months. I think we now have all six burners fixed, and the oven is fixed as well.
We have really enjoyed Sandy Bennett being here as our sub on the bus while Jane is on vacation. She is so much fun to work with. But we still missed our Jane and will welcome her back with open arms.
