Several community members of Encampment will come together Sunday to help out a friend in need.
Jeff Goolsby, a longtime Encampment resident, was diagnosed with cancer last year. His friends in Encampment pitched in and organized a benefit dinner and silent auction.
“The Encampment community has always come together to help their own,” said Doreen Harvey, member of the local Lions Club.
As a Public Works supervisor for the town of Encampment and a valued member of the community, the town decided to come together and help out.
“Jeff is a great guy,” Harvey said. “He has got a great sense of humor and a big heart.”
The dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Grand Encampment Opera House.
