Residents celebrate Valentine’s

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Religious activities at the facility include church services led by a pastor from a different church each Sunday, Bible Study led by a different pastor each Tuesday, and monthly Communion by Virginia Senne of the Presbyterian Church. On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Smith of the Platte Valley Christian Center led our church service. Doris Davis assisted with religious music on the keyboard. On Tuesday morning, Pastor Easterling offered Bible Study residents with his wife, Debbie, assisting on the guitar.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Wednesday afternoon, 16 residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, 12 residents played Bingo. Truth Karstoft, Jeanette Baker, and Sunny Behonek won Four Corners, and Sunny Behonek and Carol Higby won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Betty Dean and Lila Worden.

On Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning, Brenda Zeiger did Reading Fun, reading from Debbie Macomber’s Summer on Blossom Street.

On Wednesday morning, Janice Kerpan and Mildred Hennek gave beautiful hairdos to 10 ladies.

On Wednesday during supper, Teense Willford sang and played country western music on his guitar to 29 residents.

We want to thank Eastern Star for the kind financial donation to Bingo. We want to also thank Lila Boles for the Bingo prizes and Roxie Baldwin for the candy and prizes for Bingo..
