The Saratoga Sun -

More per gallon?

Keith McLendon

Guest speaker at the annual Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber dinner, Erin Taylor, speaks Thursday in favor of an increase in Wyoming’s state fuel tax. Ms.Taylor, Executive Director of the Wyoming Taxpayers Association, highlights her talk with a slideshow depicting several reasons why a 10 cent per gallon statewide tax increase on fuel would provide a balanced, stable, equitable, transparent and fair way to maintain Wyoming’s crumbling roadway infrastructure.

She also notes that the measure has broad support from diverse groups including Governor Matt Mead, Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association, Wyoming Stock Growers Association, Wyoming Business Alliance, Wyoming County Commissioners Association, Wyoming Trucking Association, Wyoming Association of Municipalities, Wyoming Mining Association, Wyoming Petroleum Marketers Association and the Wyoming Taxpayers Association.
