Grapplers prevail with limited numbers

The Saratoga grapplers traveled to Lingle to compete in the Dogger Invitational held Friday and Saturday. The flu bug and lambing season reduced the Panther’s squad and with only eight competing, the wrestlers were under-staffed for the invite. The Panthers placed five wrestlers individually, and took seventh as a team overall out of 18 teams listed.

Panthers pound HEM; play tough against Lusk

Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow (HEM) played at Saratoga last Friday night in a game that allowed all of the Saratoga men’s squad playing time.
“HEM was a game we needed to win, we played well and won,” head coach Josh Sandlian said.

Wells to wrestle down under

Jacob Wells is a junior at Encampment with big aspirations. Wells, who wrestles for the Panther squad, has been invited to go “Down Under” to compete and travel to a totally different continent, halfway around the world.

Lady Panthers beat HEM; drop barn burner to Lusk

The Lady Panthers hosted Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow (HEM) Friday and Saratoga came out on top 57-23.
“I was really happy with our play, especially from our bench,” coach Matt Love wrote in an email. “Coach Jones, as always, has her girls playing very hard for her. They never give up.”

Grapplers finishes in top third

The Saratoga wrestling squad traveled to Pavillion to compete in the Don Runner Invite. The invite had 21 teams and the grapplers faired well in the competition.
“We wrestled well this past weekend, placing six of 11 wrestlers,” coach Mason wrote in an email. “We also finished sixth as a team in the 21 team tournament.”

Lady Tigers battle HEM to the buzzer

With a full squad back in action, the Encampment Lady Tigers (1-8) (0-1) were on the hardwood again last Saturday against Hanna-Elk Mountain- Medicine Bow (2-6) (1-0).
The Lady Tigers had the spark coming into this conference game and it was a seesaw battle until the final buzzer.

Tigers bury Miners

With the Christmas break over and school back underway, the Encampment men’s basketball team hosted Hanna-Elk-Mountain-Medicine Bow last Saturday.
HEM (1-8) (0-1) has had a tough time of it this season and Saturday’s conference matchup showed the Encampment Tigers (8-1) (1-0) what it is like to fire on all cylinders for the entire game.
