After beating them twice earlier in the season, Saratoga’s Lady Panthers suffered an unexpected conference loss Saturday against the Lusk Lady Tigers.
The match’s scores were 25-18, 11-25, 19-25, 25-21 and 14-16, and put the Lady Panthers at a tie for first place in the 2A southeast conference. Their season record currently sits at 5-2-0 for conference and 16-8-0 overall.
With the cross-country season wrapping up this month, Saratoga’s running Panthers strived to outdo past finishing times at the Cheyenne Invitational Friday.
The meet took place at the Prairie View Golf Course in Cheyenne, where Cameron Collamer made the only top 40 placement for the varsity runners, coming in at 39th place with 18:04. Cruz Escobedo also cracked the top 40 for junior varsity, placing 36th with a time of 27:52.43.
The crowd went wild at last Friday’s Saratoga High School football game, as the Panthers made a last-minute squeeze past the Hulett Red Devils with a close 52-50 victory.
Senior Cameron Collamer nearly won it all in the high school boys division at the Lyman Cross-Country Invite last Thursday.
Collamer secured his second place out of the high school boys with a time of 19:53. Showing improvement from the previous week, a total of six Saratoga runners managed to make the Top 10, doubling the team amount secured at the Saratoga Invite Sept. 27.
