Panthers win by 20 in Tiger face-off

The Saratoga boys' basketball team was an unstoppable scoring machine Friday, slamming the local rival, Encampment Tigers, with a score of 80-60.
Playing on their home turf Friday evening, the Panthers (5-0) maintained a wide lead for much of the game, scoring high with 24-11 at the end of the first quarter, and 64-40 at the end of the third. The Panthers also won their Saturday game against North Park, Colo., with 54-47.

Gridders get honors

Although Saratoga High School's football team didn't qualify for the playoffs this year, four of the Panthers were able to receive All-State, All-Conference or Honorable Mention recognition for their 2013 season efforts.

Lady Tigers claw for more wins

After winning only one basketball game last season, Encampment's Lady Tigers are primed to bounce back this season.
With half of its players freshmen, the Lady Tigers won two out of three games at this past weekend's Carbon County Classic, the first competition of the 2013-14 season. They won with wide leads over the Dubois Lady Rams (38-13) and Hayden, Colo., Lady Tigers (51-39).
