Tigers to State

The Encampment Tigers Boys Basketball Team qualified for the Wyoming State Tournament after a successful Regional Campaign in Lander last weekend.

The Tigers finished the weekend with two wins and two loses – falling to the Burlington Huskies in the first and final games, defeating the Dubois Rams and punching their ticket to State with an overtime victory against the Farson-Eden Pronghorns.

Panther Grapplers Claw Their Way to State

An important part of goal setting is to always evaluate if a goal was achieved. The SMHS Panther wrestling team certainly did that at the 2A East Regional Tournament held in Lingle-Ft. Laramie/Southeast (LFL/SE) last weekend. A pre-season goal set by the team was to have every wrestler qualify for the state tournament, and that goal was definitely achieved!

‘Excited for the Future’

The Saratoga Lady Panthers only have two games left this season, their chance at a postseason cut off due to how matches went in the 1A Southwest Conference.

Panthers shut-out of postseason

Facing the Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Rattlers on their homecourt on February 15, the Saratoga Panthers played a game which Head Coach Jason Williams said was a privilege to coach.

The game, having already gone into overtime due to a buzzer-beater three-pointer, was approaching a second overtime. With the Rattlers ahead by just 2 points, Newt Williams scored a reverse layup to tie the game.

Encampment Clinches Regionals

The Encampment boys and girls varsity basketball teams clinched postseason appearances after sweeping Saratoga in the Panther Den last Thursday.
