Tuesday Talks returning for 2026

 

 

Tuesday Talks will begin January 27 at 2 p.m. with a meet and greet in the White Room at the Platte Valley Community Center.

The time has been changed from the morning to the afternoon after organizers received comments on conflicting events.

What gear is vital for taking on and exploring Carbon County’s backcountry?

All these questions were addressed and answered during the Carbon County Avalanche Operation Team’s Avalanche Awareness 101 class in the Great Hall of the Platte Valley Community Center last month.

Big Meeting for the Bighorns

The Wyoming Wild Sheep Foundation hosted its annual winter meeting at the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort in Saratoga last month.

The two-day event featured a WWSF Board meeting, member meetings, raffles, auctions, dinner and a weather-canceled field tour.

A Grateful New Year

For 138 years, the Saratoga Sun has been the Platte Valley’s newspaper. Publishing for more than a century is a privilege we don’t take lightly, and it comes with a responsibility we hold dear. As we turn the calendar into 2026, it’s easy to be grateful.

The Foundation of Community

 

Near the end of 2025, Riverside’s Lee Ann Stephenson was welcomed to the Wyoming Community Foundation Board of Directors. In doing so, she succeeded a spot previously held by Encampment’s Irene Archibald.
