From Skijoring to public meetings and State Championships, 2025 was another great year for the Saratoga Sun covering all things Platte Valley. 

For 138 years, the Saratoga Sun has been the Platte Valley’s newspaper. Publishing for more than a century is a privilege we don’t take lightly, and it comes with a responsibility we hold dear. As we turn the calendar into 2026, it’s easy to be grateful.

Near the end of 2025, Riverside’s Lee Ann Stephenson was welcomed to the Wyoming Community Foundation Board of Directors. In doing so, she succeeded a spot previously held by Encampment’s Irene Archibald.

The Carbon County Library System celebrated 100 years of operation in December. 

The Encampment/Riverside Community Choir along with some Encampment K-12 students held the annual Christmas Concert Celebration, Here We Come A-Caroling, at the Grand Encampment Opera House on Saturday, Dec 15. 

Bridge Street Bargains helped Saratoga Elementary students with their Christmas shopping on Monday, Dec. 8. 

Students were able to peruse the store, pick any item for a dollar and have it gift wrapped by volunteers.
