Living on Purpose: Understanding is not necessary to appreciate

he vast complexity of the human mind has fascinated mankind since the beginning. As our divine book of instruction, the Bible says that as a man or woman thinks, so are they. Since we are the accumulation of our thoughts, we cannot overly stress the importance of believing what is true in order to live in God’s favor.

Not Guaranteed For Me

Cintia Javaler’s life has been one spent in limbo.

She lives and works in Rawlins, her son attends high school in Rawlins just like she did. She’s also one of more than 500,000 recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Her parents, who are both undocumented immigrants, came into the United States when she was just five years old. She is now 34.

"The most fun you can have with your pants on"

Skiers, riders and horses tested their speed and agility during the ninth annual Saratoga Skijoring Races at Buck Springs Arena last weekend.

Over 200 rides across four different divisions took place during the unusually warm and windy weekend. By the close of competition on Sunday, the track had turned to a slick concoction of snow, ice and mud which made for some quick runs.

Living on Purpose: God always answers our prayers

I receive questions about God and the Bible, and one of the more frequent is whether God really listens and answers prayer. God’s love is eternal. You are always on God’s itinerary. Come and go as you wish, but

He’s always there.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Jesus' Inaugural Address

In Luke’s Gospel Chapter 4:14-21, Jesus is launching his public ministry. After teaching in several synagogues around Galilee, he arrives in Nazareth, “where he had been brought up.” As Luke tells the story, this is the first place we hear Jesus’ teaching — it’s his inaugural address as he begins to preach and teach and heal.

And what does Jesus say to this hometown crowd?

Living on Purpose: Having a covenant relationship with God

The Almighty is always faithful, He never fails, and if we take a closer look throughout our past, we notice that He has been working in our lives even when it did not seem like it. It’s been said that God’s care for His children is like the sun: it’s constant. Even though the clouds often obscure it, this does not mean it’s not there.
