Tuesday Talks will begin January 27 at 2 p.m. with a meet and greet in the White Room at the Platte Valley Community Center.

The time has been changed from the morning to the afternoon after organizers received comments on conflicting events.

Christ is called Emmanuel, which means, “God is with us” and we are so grateful that Jesus came to save us! Yes, we enjoy the nativity, but He’s not a baby today. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and rose again because He loved you more than anything in the world. Whatever you are going through this season, know that God wants you to place Him at the top of your priority list.

The author of this story is unknown and it has been told by many people throughout the years. The gentleman to whom I’m going to introduce was not a scrooge, but a kind, decent man and generous to his family and upright in his dealings with other people. He just could not understand how or why Jesus came to earth to save us from our sin. It did not make sense and he was too honest to pretend otherwise.
