Janet Lou Herring, 86, of Encampment passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at Hospice of Laramie. Janet was born to Fredrick and Violet Rutschman on Dec. 1, 1932 in Midwest, Wyo. After graduating from Encampment High School in 1950, she attended the University of Wyoming for a year before marrying the love of her life. The Panthers Only two teams from Wyoming went to the West Grand Duals in Kremmling, CO for wrestling and both came from Carbon County. Saratoga High School and Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School sent grapplers to face 11 other Colorado high schools. Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School girls basketball team met the Laramie High School Lady Plainsmen at 6 p.m. in Laramie on Friday. Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow High School boys basketball team split a pair of games last weekend. At 6 p.m. on Friday, the Miner basketball went to Laramie to face the Laramie Sophomore Plainsman and came up a little short, losing 61-57. The game was close but it was not to be.
