Town plows were out taking care of snow from the Nov. 30 storm on the morning of Dec. 1. The storm left enough snow to meet the towns requirements for sending out plows and sand trucks. The Encampment fourth graders learned a lot about Wyoming last week. Allen Trent, a University of Wyoming professor of education, presented a two-day study of Wyoming counties, landscapes, people, artists and ways of life called “We Are Wyoming”. Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) Trooper Dave Chatfield recently received Buster, a new K-9 dog trained for drug detection. Chatfield, who has lived in Saratoga for six years, is based out of the Elk Mountain WHP station as a K-9 unit along with his service dog. Chatfield has been with the WHP for almost 21 years. For most people the traditional Thanksgiving dinner is going to grandma's house for a family get together. In Saratoga, a handful of people volunteered their time to uphold a 19-year tradition – Thanksgiving dinner at St. Ann's Parish Hall. The Encampment Community Choir is presenting its annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. tonight at the Grand Encampment Opera House.
