Every year the Head Start program gives turkeys to the families enrolled in the program. These turkeys are usually bought through the generosity of Sinclair Oil. Depending on the remaining funds available, families would receive a food basket with non-perishable items that can be used all year long. On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, Erik Nelson, loving husband and father of four children, went to heaven at the age of 81. Erik was born March 14, 1941 in Denver, Colorado and was adopted a few days later by Dr. John Nelson and Marion Nelson. In all the years I’ve lived in this valley, I’ve seen many examples of vandalism–obscene words and pictures spray painted on the bridge, written on walls at the hot pool or a public bathroom are fairly common. The Hanna Town Council met November 22 at the Hanna Town Hall. The Council had not met since their regular meeting on September 13. The meeting on October 11 was canceled when a car accident at Hanna Junction required two council members to leave as the meeting was starting and no quorum could be made. Every year the Dirt Diggers Garden Club has a Christmas greens sale. All the items for sale are assembled by the members of the club using various ribbons, greenery and Christmas decorations. The Saratoga Museum held an event that has not been seen here, in Saratoga, in the past. The first Model Train Show was held November 19, 2022 and it was a hit with more that 140 attending the event. "It started as an ice cream truck," said Michelle Wolfard when asked what led her to be the owner of a food truck. Wolfard had seen a modified golf cart that was turned into an ice cream vending trailer. She remembered loving those as a kid and thought it would be fun.
