    Schools in the Platte Valley honored Veterans Day yesterday with assemblies to recognize veterans who have served in the military. At Saratoga Middle/High School the day began with an assembly in the gym where the pledge of allegiance was recited, followed by a speech on Veterans Day by Class President Hunter Mason. He married Janet Olsen on June 18, 1960. They lived in Paxton, Neb, where the couple raised their family and Gary managed a telephone company. In 1989 they moved to Wyoming.     Saratoga Mayor John Zeiger began the Nov. 4 town council meeting by apologizing to the council for “not controlling” the Oct. 21 meeting. “I feel I didn’t control it properly, and rest assured I will not let that happen again,” Zeiger said to council and staff members.     The Game and Fish Department is holding a public meeting and has opened a comment period through Dec. 29 on proposed regulations governing access to public records and licenses and permits. Game and Fish is proposing that parties requesting hunter license lists will only be charged for the labor to compile and mail the list, instead of the current complicated reimbursement formula.     In the hours after the polls closed, mayoral candidates Ed Glode and Don Sherrod met for drinks at the Hotel Wolf. Though they knew only one of them could win the mayoral seat, both candidates were supportive of each other. It was Ed Glode who ended up taking 53.77 percent of the 703 votes cast in Saratoga.     The makeup of the Encampment town council has changed with the loss of 16-year council member Mary Martin. Martin made a run for the mayorship and lost to incumbent Greg Salisbury, leaving her council seat to be filled by Gary Stull. Cindy Hamilton was re-elected to the council on Nov. 4.
