    The Saratoga High School cross country team traveled to Sheridan over the weekend for the state finals, with one runner taking the title of state champion, and several others earning the title of all-state champion. Overall, the team took second at state finals, earning a total of 44 points, behind Wyoming Indian who claimed their tenth title in 11 years with their score of 27.     The Saratoga Care Center will be holding their annual Halloween Carnival complete with games, prizes a cake walk and more. The event is set for 2-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at 207 East Holly location in Saratoga. Then on Tuesday, look for Witches, Goblins, Ghouls and a few Princesses to be walking the streets of Saratoga.     The Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce has begun selling tickets for the annual Reverse Drawing. Tickets are $10 each and only 300 are sold.     "God has been so good to me." Robert (Bob) Lloyd Cross of Loveland, Colorado, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017 at the age of 83 following a battle with cancer. Robert was born June 1, 1934 in Laramie, Wyoming, to Clyde Lloyd and M. Wilma Cross. His grandparents had first settled in Keeline, Wyoming, in the 1880s. Robert graduated from Ft.   • Health insurance enrollment opens

    Open enrollment for health insurance through the federal exchange website will be shortened this year, giving Wyoming residents less time to enroll in health care plans for the year 2018. This year, the enrollment period will begin November 1 and will go until December 15. In previous years, the enrollment period ran from Nov. 1 until Jan. 31, giving those wanting to purchase insurance policies though the exchange 45 fewer days in which to do so.     Scott Bokelman, representing the SMHS Tech/SkillsUSA Cancer Walk/Run, presents a check for $16,500 to Dulce Schalk of the Corbett Medical Foundation Thursday in front of the Hotel Wolf.     The Saratoga Panthers Football team traveled to Wind River Friday to take on the Wind River Cougars in Pavilion for the team’s final regular season game of the year.     On Saturday the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School football team stayed on top of the Midwest Oilers 71-52, but the score does not show how close the game was until the last couple minutes.
