The temporary clinic at the PVCC has been seeing patients and taking record requests for a week now. During their first week in operation, the clinic has taken 313 requests to have medical records transferred to the new management free of charge. The clinic has also seen 55 patients over the opening week including giving flu shots. The Wyoming Public Lands Initiative (WPLI) Committee for Carbon County met October 15 at the Harshman Building of the Carbon County Higher Education facility to hold a single topic meeting on the recommendations made for the Encampment Wilderness Study Area (WSA) (See “Recommendations Made” on page one of the Oct. 3 Saratoga Sun). Lonny F. Jennings, 64, of Superior, Wyo. passed away Oct. 14, 2018 on an elk hunting trip in the desert doing what he loved to do. He was born June 18, 1954 in Clinton, Mo. the son of William Bryan Jennings and Vera LaVerne Montgomery Jennings. He attended Knob Noster High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Dear Editor, I was very upset approximately one year ago when our local National Forest Service (NFS) Director was involuntarily transferred a thousand miles from her home and employment in Saratoga. She had no warning nor explanation and placed under a professional directive to stay silent. For the first time since being a 6-man football team, the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) high school football team went undefeated after beating the Guernsey-Sunrise Vikings 60-26 at 3 p.m. on Friday at HEM's playing field. Last Friday, on a warm October afternoon, Carbon County School District (CCSD) No. 2 teachers and staff gathered on the west end of the Saratoga Elementary School (SES) at 3:45 p.m. to remember the late Annette Mason, a former teacher at SES.
