Kathi passed away July 12 at UC Health in Loveland Colorado, from a underlying medical condition with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born in Denver Colorado in 1942. She had two children with her first marriage to Richard Schutte. After their devorced she and the children moved to Carbon County. Carbon County offers a lot of different looks for visitors. Rawlins is a stopping point for many tourists on their way to Yellowstone in the summer. It has the Old State Pen that has recorded 14,000 visitors in a year. Many hotels abound, making the town a resting point along the I-80 corridor for travelers. The number of visitors decreased in late spring and early summer most likely due to the closure of Yellowstone. In 2021 lodging tax received was $45,712 versus this year at $30,126....

Currently, there are 16 residents, but very soon there will be 18 with the new admissions scheduled coming in soon. The Activities Director is Shay Fliniav. She has two activity assistants - Liz Elizando and Kathy McMorrow. Shay has a full program scheduled with both morning and afternoon activities.
