Jeanette Romios passed away at her home on the Romios Ranch southeast of Encampment on April 26. She was 79. Mrs. Romios was born in Encampment on Oct. 1, 1935, the daughter of Oma and Lee Hammer. She attended Encampment schools. After her marriage on Oct. 10, 1951, to Pete F. Romios they lived on the Romios Ranch where they engaged in raising cattle and at times had a few sheep. The Platte Valley Ministerial Association (PVMA) will be hosting a Baccalaureate service on Sunday May 10, 2015 at 7 p.m. for graduates of Encampment, HEM, and Saratoga High Schools. Saratoga High School Senior Andrew Oiler topped the pole vault record set by Anthony Samson in 2012. Samson had broken the previous 21- year record in 2012 during state competition with a 12 foot 6 inch vault.
