    Encampment Town Council proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Sewer Lagoon Project Jon Nelson, Northfork Engineering presented the Council with contracts for the mayor’s signature from American West Construction for the sewer lagoon project.     Saratoga Recreation Center and Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce collaborate for an amazing event that raised funds that will be earmarked at the May 2 Recreation Board meeting.     Despite the threat of bad weather, the Panthers headed northeast to compete at the Tony Lehner/Al Finch Invitation on Friday, April 14 in Glenrock.     The track meet that was scheduled for Wheatland on April 14 was canceled due to weather, and so next day, the Encampment High School (EHS) track and field team went to Rock Springs High School to compete in the Ted Schroeder Meet of Hope on April 15. Eleven teams competed in the girls division and twelve teams in the boys at Rock Springs. Encampment's girls scored 9 team points fishing in 10th place.     Road and Bridge Road and Bridge Manager Kandis Fritz gave the commissioners a breakdown of the the winter costs accrued by Carbon County Road and Bridge including fuel from December of 2022, through March 2023, the total expenditures were $152,155.72. The yearly fuel budget for Road and Bridge is $220,000.00. This year with overtime and comp time payout from January 1 to March 17, 2023 the staff accrued 1,947 hours of overtime.     Emergency dispatchers at Saratoga Police Department will no longer be limited to verbal communications with callers. A new technology provided by the Prepared Live system, has the ability to access callers’ cellphone cameras. Once a caller is connected with a dispatcher, a link will be sent to the caller’s phone.
