Word was received of the death of pioneer resident Ruth M. (Ward) Brock, 96, on April 24 in West Jordan, Utah. Kim Sikes, a loving mother, wife, daughter and friend passed away peacefully on April 27, 2016 in her home on the 5N Ranch in Saratoga. She was born on March 1, 1964 in Sacramento County, Calif. while her father was in the service, and then raised in South Paris, Maine. She is the daughter of Doug Robinson and the late Ann O'Kane. Four Saratoga High School (SHS) students, a younger sibling and three other volunteers helped clean up and make improvements at Saratoga's Kaake Walk Dog park on Sunday. The Grand Encampment Museum (GEM) is working on a Textile Preservation project that was initiated by Christy Smith, GEM director, and Lynda Johnson, GEM staff member. Saratoga resident Sherry Kunz, 45, appeared in second district court in Rawlins on April 25 for sentencing after pleading guilty to obtaining property by false pretenses, a felony. Judge Wade Waldrip sentenced Kunz to 3 to 6 years in prison, with five years suspended sentence. She was also ordered to pay $38,728.77 in restitution to Spur Outfitters, as well as various court fees.
