  • At Soto Court

    Mike Armstrong|Feb 13, 2019

"He has done so much for the sporting community, but more importantly the kids," Shelly Cooper, a teacher at MBE and a former student of Soto, said. "This is an awesome thing to do." Cooper's...

Much of the meeting, in fact, centered on disagreement between UPRSWDD Board Chairman Randy Raymer and board member Sue Jones in regards to how local businesses should be handling their cardboard. Near the start of the meeting,...

  • Gaits and gates in 3D

    Keith McLendon|Feb 13, 2019

This year, Saratoga Skijoring went 3D. In previous years, there were Novice, Intermediate, and Expert classes a team could enter. A team might enter the “Intermediate” division and have a time slower than the fastest in the “Novice” category. That would win them … exactly nothing. Last week’s Saratoga snow and track event featured SkijorUSA’s new 3D system. A competing team no longer enters just a particular category and all teams are sorted into divisions based on their best times. Say a...

  • Clock running on Lady Panthers

    Joshua Wood|Feb 13, 2019

The Saratoga Lady Panthers haven’t had the best season as they have seen more losses than wins, but that hasn’t stopped them from putting up a fight during each game. This weekend, the Lady Panthers took that fight on the road as they were hosted by the Farson-Eden Lady Pronghorns (17-5, 5-2) on Friday and the Cokeville Lady Panthers (17-2, 6-0) on Saturday. While they lost against both teams, Head Coach Heather Bartlett was pleased with the effort that the Saratoga girls put into both gam...

  • Lady Tigers lose two, not hope

    Joshua Wood|Feb 13, 2019

It’s never easy to lose a game, but with each loss one can find ways to improve moving forward. Such has been the case for the Encampment Lady Tigers as they have worked through the season with only seven members and have, so far, only one conference win to their name. This weekend, Encampment hit the road and were hosted by the Cokeville Lady Panthers (17-2, 6-0) on Friday and the Farson-Eden Lady Pronghorns (17-5, 5-2) on Saturday. While the Lady Tigers ultimately lost both games, Head Coach C...

Encampment vs. Cokeville The rematch against the orange and black panthers was a quick turnaround as the Tigers had hosted Cokeville for a...

  • Tuning for Regionals

    Mike Armstrong|Feb 13, 2019

The Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) boys basketball team won one and lost one last week. On Feb. 5 the Miners beat the Wheatland Sophomores resoundingly in front of a home court. Head coach Cliff Jones saw his team was doing well enough that he could play many of his players that usually don't get much time. HEM won 59-27. On Saturday against Lingle, Jones was still pleased with how well the Miners did. Unfortunately for HEM, the Oilers came out with the win 59-53. "We played well, we...

    Joshua Wood|Feb 13, 2019

The Saratoga Panthers hit the road this weekend as they were hosted by the Farson-Eden Pronghorns (16-4, 5-2) on Friday and the Cokeville Panthers (12-5, 3-3) on Saturday. Saratoga ended up losing both games over the weekend, but Head Coach Jason Williams was able to take away positives from those losses as the regular season approaches its end. Preserving history is often an arduous task. It requires not just a love for the subject, but a knowledge of advancing technology. Video Home System (VHS) and cassette tapes have often been used to record the images and audio of everyday life and the invention of the camera allowed people to document their lives in ways that had never been thought of before. Each of these inventions, however, still find themselves victims to the march of time. Tapes will degrade, photos will age and equipment...
