The North Platte Valley Medical Center Project (NPVMC) was born nearly five years ago. Leaders from the community and the Corbett Medical Foundation (CMF) saw financial problems developing at the Platte Valley Clinic that threatened sustainability. CMF formed a subcommittee who were concerned about keeping quality healthcare in the community.

The 15th annual Party on the Platte fundraiser was a huge success.
Every year, the Platte Valley Community Center (PVCC) Foundation puts on this event either Friday or Saturday depending on when the University of Wyoming's football game is happening. The lesson was learned at earlier events, people do not like to miss their favorite team playing.
Approximately 160 people attended the event catered by the Hotel Wolf.

Physician, heal thyself is a common saying with Judeo-Christian roots often used in regards to the medical community. For Memorial Hospital of Carbon County (MHCC), it could also apply to their newly updated electronic health record which went live at midnight on September 18.

The Carbon County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) had their annual review meeting at the historic Sinclair (Parco) Theater. There was food and drink before which allowed guests to mingle before the meeting got underway.
CCEDC President, Copper France, started the meeting by talking about the past year of the CCEDC on the theater stage.
He thanked the investors of the organization first.

The disparities between rural and urban healthcare are no secret. According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 46 million Americans live in rural areas and due to living in these locations, have less access to healthcare.
