Oliver Wendell Holmes, associate justice for the United States Supreme Court, once said “Speak clearly, if you speak at all. Carve every word before you let it fall.”

Principal Seth Hetherington was bit by a Carbon County Sheriff K-9 dog in Saratoga Elementary School earlier this month. 

The bite was a demonstration by the Sheriff’s Office for the students of Saratoga Elementary, Hetherington said. He was in a bite suit and not insane or nervous. 

In a classroom at Saratoga Middle High School (SMHS), a student quite literally holds someone’s heart in their hands. 

It’s a real organ—not a model—which has been plastinated, that is drained of fluids and body fats and injected with a polymer. It’s just one of several organs which students are able to examine while also being tasked with an ethical dilemma.

Saratoga’s Finest 4-H club met on February 4th, 2025 and elected officers to represent the club for the 2025 4-H season. The following people were elected into these positions:

The Encampment FFA Chapter, in collaboration with the BEVO 4-H Club, hosted a local speech competition on January 29, 2025. Several 4-H members participated across various divisions, from juniors to seniors. The FFA chapter had one contestant in the Creed category and three contestants in the Prepared Speech category. After all participants delivered their speeches to the judges, the FFA contestants were recognized for their achievements.
