Saratoga tracks down medals, honors

Saratoga track left the Panther Den on Thursday to compete at State track in Casper. Sam Schneider, junior, and Gage Bartlett, senior, returned home with All-State honors as would the Lady Panthers 4x100 meter relay team.

Lady Panthers

The 4x100 meter relay team of Shianne Baker, Mychaela Jackman, Taylor Bennett and Savannah Wells placed 1st with a time of 52.91 seconds. Along with returning as State champions, the team also received All-State honors.

Along with placing 1st in the 4x100, other Lady Panthers relay teams would also place in the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays as well as the 1600 Sprint Medley Relay. In the 4x400, the team of Kelly Glode, Kaitlyn Campbell, Savannah Wells and Kylee Conseen placed 4th with a time of 4 minutes, 41.23 seconds.

In the 4x800, the team of Conseen, Glode, Makiyah Johnson and Ashlynn Johnson would also place 4th with a time of 11 minutes, 28.66 seconds. Finally, in the Sprint Medley Relay, the team of Wells, Jackman, Bennett and A. Johnson placed 4th after finishing with a time of 4 minutes, 55.06 seconds.

The relay team members also did well in their individual events, with Bennett placing 3rd in the Triple Jump with a distance of 32 feet, 9.5 inches and 6th in the Long Jump with a distance of 14 feet, 11 inches.

Jackman placed 7th in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 51.98 seconds while A. Johnson placed 7th in the 3200 Meter Run, finishing with a time of 13 minutes, 46.3 seconds.

In Shot Put, Tiffany Bauer placed 9th after throwing a distance of 30 feet, 5.5 inches and, in Discus, Baker placed 9th after throwing a distance of 93 feet, 3 inches.

Panthers

In the High Jump, Schneider placed 1st becoming the High Jump State Champion in 1A with a height of 6 feet, 2 inches. Schneider also placed 2nd in the Triple Jump with a distance of 41 feet, 9.75 inches. Both placings earned Schneider All-State honors.

Following Schneider in the Triple Jump was Bartlett, who placed 3rd with a distance of 41 feet, 3.5 inches. Bartlett also placed 2nd in the Long Jump, with a distance of 20 feet, 3 inches. His placing in Long Jump also earned Bartlett All-State honors.

Senior Preston Dew placed 9th in Shot Put after throwing a distance of 30 feet, 1.75 inches.

In the 1600 Meter Run, Benjamin Fairbanks placed 7th after finishing with a time of 4 minutes, 55.43 seconds. In the 3200 Meter Run, Joey Gonzales placed 5th with a time of 10 minutes, 58.47 seconds.

In the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of Jeremiah Debar, Teegan Love, Greg Swanson and Noah Rimmer placed 4th with a time of 49.07 seconds. In the 4x400 Meter Relay, the team of Bartlett, Fairbanks, Swanson and Schneider placed 3rd with a time of 3 minutes, 45.25 seconds.

In the 4x800 Meter Relay, the team of Debar, Fairbanks, Swanson and Gonzales placed 4th after completing the relay with a time of 9 minutes, 9.79 seconds. In the Sprint Medley, the team of Debar, Swanson, Bartlett and Fairbanks finished 3rd with a time of 3 minutes, 53.41 seconds.
