The 'Wolf Bohl'

UW head coach comes to Saratoga for fundraiser

University of Wyoming (UW) Head Football Coach Craig Bohl is coming to Saratoga.

Doug Campbell, co-owner of the Wolf Hotel, is bringing in the coach for a meet and greet luncheon April 23.

The lunch, which will be tenderloin salad, costs $100 a person with the proceeds going to benefit the Platte Valley Community Center.

Campbell said he had contacted the AD last August to see if he could put together a get-together with the coach to use as a fundraiser for the community center.

According to Campbell, around 40 people have signed up so far. He added that he was still making calls to those he thought would be interested.

The lunch was originally an auction item at the community center auction and fundraiser in September. While that brought in a few people Campbell said he and his wife, Kathleen, had been adding people since then.

Getting the time right was a concern as Campbell explained. “He finishes up spring football on Saturday the 21st with the spring game and we have wait to see when he would be available because they are out on the recruiting trail.”

When the coach reintroduced himself to the Campbells at a UW basketball game recently Bohl told the couple he was really looking forward to coming to Saratoga.

Campbell said Bohl was a “real personable fellow” and that he was looking forward to the coach relating some interesting stories and taking questions about the team and its future.

Of particular interest to Campbell would be answers to UW’s future at quarterback as their current quarterback is likely going to be taken high in the NFL draft.

The lunch is set for noon on Monday, April 23 at the Wolf Hotel. For more information or to make a reservation, contact Doug Campbell at 307-329-8647.
