Tigers travel to Farson-Eden, Cokeville

Lady Tigers take two, Encampment men lose to Pronghorns, win against Panthers

Encampment left Tiger Nation this weekend to faceoff against the Farson-Eden Pronghorns on Friday and the Cokeville Panthers on Saturday. The Lady Tigers enjoyed a two-win weekend over their conference rivals while the Encampment boys had another split weekend as they lost to Farson-Eden but were victorious over Cokeville.

Lady Tigers vs. Lady Pronghorns

Noelle Peterson led the Lady Tigers against the Lady Pronghorns with 19 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Hailey Barkhurst with 14 points and three rebounds and Micaiah Pantle with 9 points–all of them 3-pointers.

“The main difference in this game came on the boards and we won that battle 37 to 12,” said Clint Bromley, head coach of the Encampment Lady Tigers.

Bromley added that Farson-Eden played an excellent defensive game that caused the Lady Tigers to make several turnovers.

“If we are going to play them again during the tournament we will have to get that resolved,” Bromley said.

The final score against the Lady Pronghorns was 53-36.

Lady Tigers vs. Lady Panthers

“We started slow with this game and were only ahead 12 to 10 at the half,” said Bromley.

Peterson again led the Lady Tigers, this time with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Barkhurst followed with 10 points and four rebounds, Paige Powell with 9 points and seven rebounds, and Pantle with 8 points.

“We were able to make a couple of adjustments in the second half and the girls responded and got the win fairly handily,” said Bromley.

Bromley said that while Cokeville plays a great defense, he saw this game as a building block with four girls scoring close to or above double digits and the Lady Tigers playing a good defense of their own.

The final score against Cokeville saw the Lady Tigers win 40-22.

After this weekend, the Lady Tigers are 6-1 for conference and 15-1 for the season.

Tigers vs. Pronghorns

The Encampment boys’ weekend started with a loss to Farson-Eden as the Pronghorns escaped the Tigers’ claws for the second time this season. The final score against Farson-Eden was 70-74.

Tigers vs. Panthers

After their loss to the Pronghorns, the Tigers traveled to Cokeville to take on the Panthers. When the two big cats last faced each other, Encampment sent Cokeville packing with a 15-point loss. The Tigers’ were able to dispatch the Panthers yet again, this time increasing their lead by 7 points.

The final score against Cokeville was 74-52.
