"There was a lot of action," Gonzales said. "People were having a lot of fun."

She was pleased with the response from families and kids who showed up to skate. Besides the roller skating in the gym, the recreation center set up a net for in the racquetball court for people to play badminton. The net also saw volleyball action.

Saturday was not the only day, the recreation center did something for the Hanna community.

The recreation center opened up its doors to public, member or not, on Thursday from 6-10 a.m. in the morning and 4-8 p.m. in the afternoon. Gonzalez, said she did this so kids that were out of school could get some exercise and it gave a chance for families to do activities together one day, this holiday season.

The Hanna Recreation Center definitely was a place over the holiday break that gave kids and families a place to have fun.
