Woman found at hot pool dies

Tragedy struck one of the Valley’s landmark attractions this weekend when a local woman died Friday after being found at the Hobo Hot Pools in Saratoga.

Eve Dodd, 55, of Saratoga, was found at the hot pool Friday evening. After a call to emergency services, an ambulance from South Central Wyoming Emergency Medical Services was dispatched to the scene.

According to Carbon County Coroner Paul Zamora, the ambulance crew attempted Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, or ACLS, techniques on the victim while she was being transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins.

Dodd was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

An autopsy was performed Monday in Loveland, Colorado, by a pathologist, Zamora said.

There were no traumatic injuries consistent with foul play, Zamora said, so while there was no cause of death yet determined, he was confident the death was not a case of foul play.

The investigation into Dodd’s death will continue, Zamora said, and will focus on possible causes of death.

Pathology tests were conducted during Monday’s autopsy in Colorado, but it would be “several weeks” before results of those tests are available, Zamora said.

In the meantime, the investigation is still open, and is being investigated by both the Coroner’s Office and the Saratoga Police Department.

As of press time, the Saratoga Sun was unable to reach the officer handling the investigation for the police department.
