Former Utah Jazz star to lead clinic in Hanna

Bryon Russell, a former Utah Jazz small forward, is coming to visit the Hanna Recreation Center at 1 p.m. on June 15 in coordination with the Utah Jazz Junior Basketball recreational program in Carbon County.

Russell, a native of California, attended college at Long Beach State University from 1990 to 1993. Eventually the school retired his number 32.

In 1993 Russell was drafted by the Utah Jazz and played for the team nine years, retiring in 2002.

He played every game from 1997 to 2000 and was in back-to-back NBA finals in 1997 and 1998.

In his career Russell scored 6,663 points, had 2,914 rebounds and 1,085 assists.

Russell will be in Hanna to answer questions, meet fans and assist kids by leading a skills clinic.
