Ryta Sondergard of Sinclair Oil Refinery was named Business Person of the Year. Team members Marcy Knotwell and Annette Penman were also recognized. Criteria upon which Business Person of the Year is judged include; the nominee's service to the local community from the local to state level, the nominee's contributions to education, employment, economic development, and world enhancement. The board selected Sinclair Oil was not only because it is one of the largest employers in the county but also because of their philanthropic donations totaling over $250,000 in contributions to over forty organizations and/or programs. Ryta spearheaded these contributions for the company.

The Realtor of the Year award was presented to Linda Skordas. This annual award honors the one member who has contributed the most to the advancement of the real estate profession in Wyoming and its communities.

Also at the banquet, outgoing President Linda Skordas inducted new 2017 Officers into the Carbon County Board of Realtors. Jenn Rothenberg was named as new President, Marcy Cooley was named President Elect and Amanda Shahadey will be the new Secretary/Treasurer.
