Town & Country Realty adds new face

For Hank Morris, 37, a new resident to Saratoga and new real estate agent at Town & Country Realty in Saratoga, first impressions mean a lot. Though his path to living in Saratoga may have been a bit circuitous, but he is glad he finally has the opportunity to live and work in the Valley.

He's been selling real estate since 2012 in Texas and Arkansas, and just three weeks ago moved to Saratoga with his wife Jessie, and two children, 6-year-old Sam and 3-year-old Maggie, to continue his career here.

"I moved here years ago and worked at Bruch Creek Ranch," Morris, a native of Texarkana, Texas, said. "That's when I fell in love with the area and the people."

He worked for Brush Creek Ranch for a couple years in a variety of positions he said, from cook to guide to handyman around the ranch. He was in Saratoga working at the ranch when 9/11 happened.

"It was a pretty crazy time," he said, "But I loved working there, I just really like this area and I really like the people here."

Morris has certainly had choice of places to fall in love with, too. "When I was in my 20s I would just kind of work and go somewhere and do stuff; just go where I wanted to go," he said. "I've been all over Europe."

Morris said he spent significant time in Germany and Italy, as well as other places in Europe. He said he used to kick around Mexico a lot as well, even attending bull fights.

But Saratoga was always a favorite, he said. "I've been back quite a few times, and I've always loved it."

Eventually though, he found his way back to Texarkana where he married Jessie seven years ago and began his career in real estate. After they started a family, they decided to take the plunge and move to Saratoga.

"We always thought this would be a great place to raise a family," he Morris said. "One day, we just figured if we didn't do it now, we never would."

He's ready to get to work, he said. I'm looking forward to getting out there and working with the community," he said. "I love to jump in and get to know people and do whatever I can do to help them out."

Aside from hitting the ground running at work, the family is getting used to their new environment.

"Every day is a new adventure," he said. "We went out to Jack Creek Campground the other day and they (his children) saw their first moose."

There are animals everywhere, Deer in the back yard, antelope, elk; It's like living a zoo for them, in a good way."

For Morris though, it's like coming home. ""From the first time I ever came here I was made to feel like I was at home. I love hunting and fishing and being outdoors," he said.

And as for Wyoming winters that are just a few short weeks from making their debut?

"I came from a place where it's extremely hot in the summer. I'd much rather have to put up with a rough winter than a hot summer."
