Winter Carnival is here

Sagebrush Senior Center

As we come to a close for January, which I feel should be a practice month for the new year, we will see what Punxsutawney Phil will have to say whether we have six more weeks of winter or not. However, we live in Wyoming not Pennsylvania! I wonder what our Speaker of the House (Connie Beckham) will have to say about that. I guess her delegates Laura Rettelle, Patty Herring, Karen Dibbern, Arleigh Simmons, Linda York, Monty Hobbs and Mary Priquet (whom I have forgotten to mention in the past two articles —I apologize), may just have a filibuster on their hands.

Our dedicated domino players Bill and Madeline Telfer, Bob and Lois Thompson, Phil Fleming, Lorraine Knotwell, Dick Blake, Dot Severns and Lila Payton have managed to have games all week with Lois, Phil and Dick being the winners. They get pretty serious about their games but there is laughter all around Jo Roberson, Bill and Madeline Telfer are working on a new puzzle getting it pieced together quite nicely.

We finally had 1 table of Bridge builders this week, Sheila Johnson, Rosemary Craighead and a new joiner Irene Archibald. There was a fourth builder, but I have no name on who joined them.

Our busy quilting bees Nancy Lynch, Lila Walbye, Joan Dowdy, Jo Roberson, Phyllis Smith and Karen Casson have one more week of stitching on this raffle quilt.

We had 21 people take advantage of blood pressure day. We will have blood pressures again on the Thursday. That is also the day that Jerry Paxton will be here to listen to everyone’s concerns and statements on the upcoming Legislature items.

This weekend is our Annual Winter Carnival. Please come enjoy the events.
