Barbara Ann (Ryan) Gray

Barbara Ann (Ryan) Gray passed away at the age of 80. She was born July 6, 1934 in Saratoga, Wyo.

A lover of holidays, Barbara died early Valentine's Day morning (Feb. 14, 2015) in Wimberley, Texas. She was held by her family when she passed.

Celebration of life was held on Feb. 20 in Wimberly, where she made her home for nearly 20 years. In celebration of Barbara's life her family and friends wore color and admired a gallery of Barb's artwork.

The co-founder of Greek House Resource, Barbara connected college and university sororities and fraternities with house mothers. She herself was the house mother for Pi Beta Phi at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and for Gamma Phi Beta at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. Her house mother career spanned over 20 years. In this role, she lovingly earned the name "Mom Gray" and nurtured hundreds of young women into adulthood. A trained social worker, Barbara was a counselor and confidant to many.

Prior to this work, she was a beautician.

Barbara was an artist, a painter. She loved watercolors and had a line of original notecards.

She was a descendant of Wyoming pioneer Albert H. Huston and spoke of this proudly.

Barbara is preceded in death by her mother and father and her beloved aunt.

She is survived by sons, Bart Jones and Greg Jones (Paul); daughter, Laurie Fleener (Brad); brother: William "Billy" Ryan, grandchildren: Sarah (Chris), Luke (Theresa), Ryan and Alice, and great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Eddie and Lyla.
