Residents enjoy Memorial Day picnic

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, four residents played Dominoes with Charlotte Gibbons winning. On Monday afternoon, five residents played Yahtzee with Pat Rust winning.

On Tuesday morning, five residents played Dominoes with Charlotte Gibbons winning. On Wednesday afternoon, 13 residents played Bingo, and Friday afternoon, 11 residents played Bingo.

Charlotte Gibbons, Truth Karstoft, Carol Higby, and Dora Martin won Four Corners. Marion Lansdown, Charlotte Gibbons, and Frank Jereb won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Lila Worden, Joannie Johnson, Elder Christiansen, Elder Ramirez, Elder Franz, and Gloria Rakness. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

During evening everyday, residents watched the Turner Classic Movies Channel on television. On Sunday morning, five residents watch the DVD Movie, “Premonition”. On Tuesday afternoon, five residents watched the VCR movie, “Rio Grande”. On Saturday morning, residents watched the VCR movie, “Rooster Cogburn”.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Arlen Hughes of the Abundant Life Fellowship led at our church service. Doris Davis assisted on the keyboard.

On Monday which was Memorial Day, residents enjoyed a picnic-like lunch with hamburgers with lettuce and tomato, French fries, baked beans, and apple pie. Before supper, residents had a beer, a wine cooler, or soda in a happy hour.

On Tuesday morning, Pastor Hughes offered Bible Study for three residents. On Wednesday morning, Lynda Healy,Georgia Schroer, Kathy McMorrow, and Janice Kerpan gave Hair Care to seven residents and Nail Care to six residents.

On Thursday afternoon, residents helped decorate our bulletin boards for June. On Friday for Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, four residents had hot turkey sandwiches.
