The State of Wyoming is obligated, through the state constitution, to fund education. In the interim sessions, the School Recalibration Committee had made their recommendations on how to make those cuts while still fulfilling the legislature’s...

  • We the people

    Mike Armstrong|Oct 28, 2020

In Carbon County there are many small municipalities and that is part of their charm. Small populations can often mean that townspeople know each other and will help a neighbor in times of trouble. This goodwill and cooperation is essential to a town’s character but, when it comes to participating on boards and even town councils, many residents don’t contribute. “If we don’t participate in local government, and it is we the people, it effects every aspect of how a town runs,” Sue...

The forum, held in the Great Hall of the PVCC, was hosted by the Valley Service Organization (VSO) and livestreamed on Facebook by the Saratoga Sun. House District 47 is no different as Representative Jerry Paxton has been working to fend off three challengers; Joey Correnti IV, Dee Garrison and perennial...

    Joshua Wood|Aug 12, 2020

It likely goes without saying that the primary race for House District 47 has been unlike any previous race for the district in the past eight years. This year, incumbent Representative Jerry Paxton has faced three Republican challengers in Joey Correnti IV, Julie McCallister and Dee Garrison. With only a week until the primary election, it appears that the intensity of the race has taken a turn that few expected as Garrison and McCallister are claiming that Correnti had threatened Garrison and...
