The Jordans and Picketts roar again for Encampments

Jordan and Pickett siblings earn top finishes for the Tigers in Torrington, Bagg

The Encampment Tigers track and field team has been making its mark in recent track meets.

Last week, the Tigers added other athletes in top finishes with the Jordan and Pickett siblings getting things done as they prepare for regionals.

Encampment had an impressive two days of track meets in Torrington and Baggs. Willford said opportunities are coming his team’s way and they are going to take advantage of it.

“It was great for the athletes to get one more opportunity to compete before we go to regionals,” Wilford said. “It was also great for our athletes to get the opportunity to try some different events they don’t normally do”.

Encampment Girls at Torrington

Kirstie Jordan earned a 5th place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.40. Jordan also took a 4th place finish in shot put with a distance of 33 feet, 11 inches and a 2nd place finish in discus with a distance of 111 feet, 6 inches.

Jordan and the 400 meter relay team of Kyenna Jackson, Lola Refouvelet and Eckerly Pickett finished 4th place with a time of 57.99. Pickett also earned an 8th place finish in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 58.49.

Encampment Girls at Baggs

Kristie Jordan finished in 1st place in the high jump and shot put. She scored a top height of 4 feet, 5 inches and a throwing distance of 33 feet, 6 inches. Jordan also earned a 2nd place finish in discus with a distance of 108 feet, 2 inches.

Pickett finished in 3rd place in long jump with a distance of 13 feet and 7 inches. Refouvelet took 8th place in shot put with a distance of 21 feet, 3 inches. Yurena Martin took 5th place in discus with a distance of 70 feet, 6 inches.

Encampment Boys at Torrington

Quade Jordan earned a 1st place finish in shot put with a distance of 56 feet,.5 inches and a 2nd place finish in discus with a distance of 147 feet, 9 inches. Kaben Pickett took a 6th place finish in shot put with a distance of 45 feet, 6 inches. Pickett also finished 1st place in discus with a distance of 151 feet, 8 inches.

Hayden Crowe and the 400 meter relay team with Jordan, Tyrel Brown and Pickett finished in 4th place with a time of 48.38. Crowe also took 7th place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.67.

Saratoga Boys at Baggs

Jordan earned 1st place finishes in shot put and discus. He threw the top distance in shot put with a distance of 54 feet and a distance of 154 feet, 1 inch in discus.

Pickett earned 2nd place finishes in shot put and discus. Pickett got a distance of 47 feet, 1 inches in shot put and distance of 152 feet, 7 inches in discus.

Tyrel Brown earned a 7th place finish in shot put with a distance of 33 feet, 10.50 inches and a 3rd place finish in discus 115 feet, 7 inches. For the first time this year, the Encampment Boys earned the top three finishes in discus.

Chase Brown took 1st place in high jump with a top height of 5 feet, 2 inches. He also earned a 4th place finish in long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 2.25 inches.

Kannon Gilbert took 6th place in shot put with a distance of 34 feet, 5 inches and an 8th place finish in discus with a distance of 101 feet. He took 5th place in the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet, 4 inches.
