City of Rawlins hires new attorney

Attorney is Rawlins-native and brings variety of experience to role

The City of Rawlins recently announced the selection of its new attorney.

Pinita Maberry-Nave, who previously served as the interim city attorney, is a native to Rawlins and graduated from Rawlins High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Astronomy/Astrophysics from the University of Wyoming before earning her Justice Degree from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2007.

According to the press release, Maberry-Nave brings a diverse background to her new role as the City of Rawlins attorney. She has worked in Food and Drug Administration (FDA) food law, the California corporate arena, private practice and as a staff attorney in the Second Judicial District Court.

“I am thrilled to step into the role of city attorney and work with a fantastic group of people who are equally committed to serve the place we call home and championing the values that bind us together,” said Maberry-Nave.

“We are excited to have Pinita join the incredible Rawlins team,” said Mayor Terry Weickum.

Outside of her professional life, Pinita is actively engaged in volunteer work in Rawlins and serves on several law-related boards and committees. In her spare time, she enjoys quality time with her family, indulging in literature, exploring new destinations and venturing into the breathtaking outdoor spaces of Carbon County with her dogs.
