Lady Panthers compete in Regionals

Finish successful season

The Lady Panthers of Saratoga High School traveled to Riverton last weekend for the volleyball Regionals. The team opened the tournament with a 3-1 win against Dubois. Unfortunately they just could not find their rhythm during the tournament and dropped the next match to Cokeville 0-3. They then faced Burlington, a team they had defeated twice over the course of the season. Throughout the sports world, at all levels of competition, they say beating the same team three times in a season is very difficult to do. That adage proved correct in this match as Burlington won all three games. Two losses eliminated SHS from moving on in the tournament, and to the states.

There was no sense of disappointment for a team that finished 18-12-1 through a challenging schedule. Coach Teichman said “This season went well considering the circumstances of a young team and new coach. Abilities and bonding became stronger as the season went on. Despite our losses at regionals and no trip to state, I’m very pleased with the effort and how the team played overall. Looking for good things to come next year as we’re only losing one senior.”. That senior is team captain Makenna King, a standout player, who will be difficult to replace.

The Saratoga High School Lady Panthers are to be congratulated for an outstanding 2023 season. Players and coaches can look back on a successful campaign.
