A Stitch in Time

Free program invites attendees to learn art, history of cross stitch

World renown cross stitch teacher, Maureen Appleton of The Heart’s Content in Green Bay, Wisc., will teach a cross stitch class beginning at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, June 24th, in the Saratoga Museum for beginners and enthusiasts alike.

The “Learn the Art & History of Cross Stitch” program is free to attend at 104 Constitution Ave., just across from the airport, according to information released recently by the Saratoga Historical & Cultural Assn., sponsoring organization.

For over forty years, Maureen has graced the needles of stitchers worldwide with her gentle, most infinitely detailed needleart creations on premium Scottish Glenshee linen, imported from Edinburgh, Scotland, organizers note.

Artist, author, and designer, Maureen enjoys the needleart design career she has so dearly nurtured her entire life.  Samples of her work are available for viewing at the Saratoga Museum, as well as at https://theheartscontent.com/.

Kits (great for kids and beginners) will be available so that attendees may learn the classic art form.

“Please RSVP by calling (307) 326-5511 or e-mail [email protected] if you plan to attend the class so that enough materials will be available,” sponsors urge.
