Wood awarded BPOY

Carbon County Board of Realtors award Sun, Wood Business of the Year

The Saratoga Sun's own Joshua Wood has been named Carbon County Board of Realtors 2021 Business Person of the Year.

Each year, the Board of Realtors take nominations from their membership as to who should receive the award. One person is selected by the board.

Listed in the nomination are business accomplishments, business impact, special endeavors and other comments from realtors.

"Established in 1888, the Saratoga Sun has been devoted to providing factual and accurate reporting for over 125 years. In more recent years Joshua Wood has taken over editing and publishing duties. He emphasizes on having staff at the various events that keep the local area busy. Josh has also been instrumental in posting live feeds from debates to town council meetings to share with The Sun's readers," mentions Town and Country in their nomination

Adding a competitive edge to the newspaper, the number of awards from the Wyoming Press Association has grown throughout the years, with hopes to add to that number in years to come. The creativity and article content have been awarded year after year. Josh personally has received many of those awards for his columns and articles. Josh, along with the support of his family, has made it second nature to personally attend almost every event that is held in the Valley. From high school games to tractor pulls, Josh is a familiar face around the Valley.

"I am extremely honored to have been presented this award from the Carbon County Board of Realtors. When it comes to the day-to-day operations of the Saratoga Sun, the most important thing is to provide the most complete coverage we can from council meetings to high school sports to community events. While the recognition is appreciated, we don't set out each day with the intention of receiving awards for what we do.

Though I'm the editor and publisher of the Sun, and proud to lead a newspaper which has over 130 years of history in the Platte Valley, I cannot take all the credit for our success. This weekly publication would not make it out on newsstands without the hard work and dedication of the Sun staff. While we may seem to take on more than we can handle at times, it is with the purest of intentions and that is to continue to serve the distinct communities in our coverage area."
