Tigers prequalify four

Encampment track goes to Legler invite, prequalify four for State at first opportunity

The Encampment Tigers ran off to Casper this weekend to compete in the Glen Legler Natrona Early Bird Invite, their first meet of the season. Several Lady Tigers prequalified for state in different events and the Tigers set a new school record.

Lady Tigers

Paige Powell placed first in the high jump over the weekend with a height of 4’10”, third in the triple jump with a distance of 34’6” and eighth in discus with a distance of 100’9”. Powell prequalified for state in all three events.

Cheyanne Jordan prequalified for state in shot put with a distance of 31’5.50”.

Noelle Peterson also prequalified for state in shot put with a distance of 31’5.75”.

Lauren Buford placed eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

Amber Stubbs place fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 42 seconds.

The Lady Tigers earned a total of 23 points and placed ninth over the weekend.

Jackson Cor, Wyatt Cox, Sean Stewart and Reid Schroeder placed fifth in the 1600 meter sprint medley relay with a time of 3 minutes and 58.48 seconds. The time sent a new school record for the Encampment Tigers.

Jarom Herring placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 22 seconds.

Schroeder placed fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10 minutes and 54 seconds and prequalified for state.

The Tigers earned a total of 14 points and placed 11th over the weekend.

The next meet for the Encampment Track Team will be the Natrona Invite on March 23 in Casper.
