Advisory committee formed

At a rescheduled regular meeting, held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15 at the Riverside Town Hall, the Riverside Town Council read correspondence from Dana Greenwood that asked for the council to consider the formation of an events committee for future music events. Greenwood suggested in her letter that the committee be composed of a council member, the town clerk and the event organizer. The events committee would, wrote Greenwood, be in place of any ordinances.

Fred Lorenz, who led the council in the absence of Mayor Stephenson, discussed a separate committee formed earlier by Stephenson to look at possible ordinances for music events and make recommendations to the council. The members of that committee, council member Katie Cheesbrough, Margaret Weber and Dana Greenwood, were approved by the town council. Cheesbrough abstained from the vote.

In other business, the council held their second reading of ordinance 223. Lorenz also informed the council of the recent meetings of the Carbon County Council of Governments (CCCOG) and South Central Wyoming Emergency Medical Services (SCWEMS).

With no other business to discuss, the council adjourned. The next Riverside Town Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on March 8 at the Riverside Town Hall.
