Fall carnival a success.

Saratoga Care Center

We had our annual Halloween Carnival on Friday afternoon for kids of the valley, dressed in Halloween costumes. It was a great success thanks to the 23 people who helped set up the Carnival, sell tickets, run the game stations, the Spook House, and the Cake Walk. We had seven National Honor Society students run the balloon dart game and set up and run the Spook House: Morgan Kempel, Jacob Dickinson, Matt Lincoln, Katie Loose, Gabrielle Clutter, Cruz Escobedo and Derrick Walton. Other volunteers including the following: Janice Kerpan, Connie Paterson, Lila Worden, Sue Bartlett, Dawna Erickson, Elder Maake and Elder Coleman. Even the following residents ran game stations or passed out candy: Barbara Plummer, Pat Rust, and Koreen Spoon. The following staff members also helped out setting up and running game stations: Michael Musacchio, Andrea Dearborn, Bethany Manley, Liz Elizondo, Kathy McMorrow and myself. The Carnival was a great success thanks to these 23 people.

Games provided fun and laughter throughout the week. On Sunday afternoon, four residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Monday afternoon, three residents played Yahtzee with Elaine Burge winning. On Tuesday morning, three residents played Uno with Truth Karstoft winning. On Wednesday afternoon, residents played Bingo. Pat Rust, Elaine Burge and Carol Higby won Four Corners. Elaine Burge won Blackout. Volunteers were Lila Worden and Dawna Erickson. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Arlen Hughes of the Abundant Life Fellowship led our church service. Doris Davis played traditional religious music on her keyboard.

On Monday, three residents had Beef Wellington for Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center.

On Tuesday morning, Pastor Arlen Hughes offered Bible Study to residents.

On Wednesday morning, three residents had their hair done, and seven residents had their fingernails done by Georgia Schroer, Merlynn Hoopes, and Janice Kerpan.

On Saturday, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.

We greatly appreciate the continued support of our volunteers throughout the week. Anyone wanting to become a volunteer, please contact Tom Mansfield, Activity Director, at the facility
