Cards, movies, haircare & more

Games provided laughter and socialization during the week. On Sunday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust and Katherine Beckham winning. On Tuesday morning, three residents played Yahtzee with Pat Rust and Elaine Burge winning. On Wednesday afternoon and Friday afternoon, residents played Bingo. Elaine Burge, Betty Merrill, Kenny Hoagland and Pat Rust won Four Corners. Kenny Hoagland, Pat Rust, Katherine Beckham and Pat Sims won Blackouts. Our volunteers were Lila Worden, Dawna Erickson, Gloria Rakness, Elder Coleman and Elder Bingham. On Saturday, residents played Blackjack.

Movies provided entertainment for residents through the week. On Tuesday, three residents watched the DVD movie, “McLintock,” and 11 residents had popcorn.

For Exercise during the week, residents did Wii Bowling on Sunday, Sittercise on Monday, Sittercise on Thursday, Sittercise on Friday, and Wii Bowling on Saturday.

For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, two residents had lasagna on Monday, and three residents had roast turkey and birthday cake on Friday.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Gene Smith of the Platte Valley Christian Center led our church service. Doris Davis played religious music on her keyboard.

On Monday afternoon, four residents attended Resident/Food Council under the able leadership of President Pat Rust, discussing concerns about living at the facility.

On Wednesday morning, five residents had their hair done, and 11 residents had their fingernails done by Georgia Schroer, Connie Patterson and Merlynn Hoopes. Shalyn Smith, our beautician, was here and did four ladies’ hair.

Thursday afternoon, the Alliance Church Awana Kids hosted our monthly birthday party. Eleven residents had cake and ice cream, and we celebrated the birthdays of Gloria Kendrick and Betty Merrill.

On Saturday, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.
