Ralston appointed to SCWEMS

Water and sewer reps retained, Bedwells’ last council meeting

Kelly Ralston was appointed as the Riverside representative to the South Central Wyoming Emergency Medical Service (SCWEMS) board. Ralston will replace Gary Stull who was elected to the Encampment Town Council and can no longer serve on the SCWEMS board as it would violate the SCWEMS bylaws. Stull suggested Ralston for his replacement in a letter to the town council.

The council voted to retain Dan Jago and Bill Walters as their representatives on the Sierra Madre Water and Sewer Joint Powers Board. There was discussion about the future direction of the board, but it was decided that Jago and Hamilton would maintain consistency and institutional knowledge on the board. Margaret Weber was the sole dissenting vote for retention of the two water and sewer board members.

Ron and Karran Bedwell, outgoing mayor and councilwoman, were presented with certificates acknowledging their service to the town by Town Clerk Jan Cook. The rest of the council thanked the Bedwells for their service over the years.

The next regular meeting of the Riverside Town Council will be 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Riverside Town Hall.
