Trip to Aspen Alley

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, three residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Monday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes again. On Tuesday morning, five residents played Yahtzee with Janet Kennaday winning. On Wednesday afternoon, 10 residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, 14 residents played Bingo. Carol Higby and Pat Rust won Four Corners. Rudy Stadola and Nadine Caleb won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Lila Worden, Joannie Johnson, Gloria Rakness, Dawna Erickson, Elder Richins, and Elder Komanrex. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

During the evenings, residents watched Turner Classic Movies. On Saturday morning, residents watched the DVD movie, “Return to Snowy River”.

On Sunday morning, six residents played Wii Bowling.

On Sunday morning, Dr. Dean Bartholomew and his wife, Tonya, brought the kids from the Saratoga Alliance Church and helped resident make fall center pieces for our dining room tables.

On Sunday afternoon, Terry Hicks of the Saratoga Alliance Church led church. Joe Gaspari assisted with hymn singing, and Doris Davis played religious music on the keyboard.

On Tuesday afternoon, five residents went on a Van Ride to Aspen Alley to see the fall colors in the mountains with Sue Morawski.

On Wednesday morning, Lynda Healey and Kathy McMorrow gave Hair Care to five residents and Nail Care to three residents.

On Thursday, three residents help decorate our bulletin boards for October.

On Friday for Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, five residents had Salisbury steak.

On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.

We are in need of small Bingo prizes, including stuffed animals.

We wish to thank the Old Baldy Club for bringing two large flower basket to decorate our dining room.
