SHS celebrates year in athletics

Saratoga High School athletes reminisced on a productive year of sports at the 2014 Saratoga Panthers Athletic Banquet May 29.

Student athletes from the 2013-14 year received awards, certificates and letterman honors for several sports, including cross-country running, wrestling, track and field and golf. Coaches, friends and family members were in attendance at the banquet, which took place at Saratoga Middle/High School.

Presenters included coaches Rex and Mary Hohnholt, Jared Mason and Sterling Arnold. Names of the top awardees are listed below:

Cross Country Awards

Ben Falk- Senior Excellence Award, Will to Win Award, recognition for 10th place at State Cross Country Championships, All-State Award

Cameron Collamer- Will to Win Award, Senior Excellence Award, recognition for 5th place at State Cross Country Championships, All-State Award, Outstanding Cross Country Runner Award

Katie Loose- Rookie of the Year Award, Will to Win Award, recognition for 13th place at State Cross Country Championships, Outstanding Cross Country Runner Award

Andrew Janecek-Oiler- Panther Pride Award, recognition for 20th place at State Cross Country Championships

Braxton Schwartzkopf- Rookie of the Year Award

Hunter Mason- Panther Pride Award

Aaron Kerbs- Panther Pride Award

Cruz Escobedo- Panther Pride Award
