Snowbirds return

There were five here to play bingo on Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Grace Johnston, Berneil McCord and Madaline Forbes. Grace Johnston won the $3 blackout round. Madaline Forbes won the $3 blackout round.

There were three tables for duplicate bridge on Monday. There was a tie for high winners between Bob Johnson and Sheila Johnson, and Mariel O’Grady and John Blue.

I now have the forms for the elderly and disabled tax returns, so stop by and get one or call and I will help you fill them out and get them sent back. You have until Aug. 31 to get the forms in. Qualifications are you have to be at least 65, if you are single you can make up to $17,500 per year. Married couples can make up to $28,500.

On Tuesday, Taylor Haynes stopped in to visit with the seniors. He is running for governor. He was very easy to listen to and he had some very good answers to the senior’s questions.

It is that time of year when we should see more political people coming to talk to us.

There were seven ladies that stayed to see the movie “Ride Along”. I think they enjoyed it. The next movie will be the first Thursday of July.

We heard Pat Corpening was under the weather and we want to wish her a speedy recovery.

We want to send our sincere sympathy to the family of Peggy Chancellor. Peg passed away this week in Colorado. She and Jim moved back there to be closer to their family and to be closer to doctors. She will be missed by all who knew her.
